Support The Mineral Belt Trail

The Mineral Belt Trail is an 11.6 mile all-season non-motorized ADA accessible route with numerous trailheads and access points. Approximately six miles of this trail meanders through the historic Leadville Mining District. It offers unsurpassed views of the Sawatch and Mosquito ranges.

Dedicated on July 29, 2000, this trail loops the city of Leadville, traveling through aspen groves, conifer forests, wildflower meadows and open vista sage parks.

​

The trail is designed for bicycles, walkers, wheelchairs, strollers, in-line skaters and  long-boarders. Wintertime enthusiasts will find the trail snowcat-groomed, affording freestyle and classic Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and winter biking.

Donating to the Mineral Belt Trail

 

Many people have asked how they can help support the Mineral Belt Trail with monetary donations. It's easy! Where does my money go?  Donations to the Mineral Belt Trail are used for year round maintenance and improvements.  There are now three ways to donate...either by good ol' fashioned check, via PayPal, or right on the trail by scanning one of the many QR codes located on kiosks.

Consider buying a custom plaque to be affixed to one of our shelters.  You can create a lasting tribute by purchasing a special plaque bearing your message for all users of the Mineral Belt Trail to see. Honor family or cherished friends, remember a loved 4-legged companion, recognize your business or favorite organization.

 

Messages will be etched into weather-hardy aluminum and the and order turn around is approximately 4 weeks. Small plaques are $100 and large plaques $200.
